Our Great Work!

Enthusiasm is contagious! Staff Association committees are open to all staff members. By actively participating in a committee, you will help our community accomplish the great work we set out to do each year. To express interest, please contact a committee Chair or staffassociation@ucsd.edu.

 

Budget & Finance

Chaired by the SAEB Treasurer, the Budget & Finance Committee is responsible for monthly budget reports, special event budgets, and annual projections.

Scholarships & Professional Development

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for the Staff Association scholarship program. This includes program recommendations (criteria, timeline, etc.), reviewing scholarship applications, vetting applicant eligibility and selecting recipients for SAEB approval.

Fundraising

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for working with campus departments/organizations and local business to secure sponsorships and opportunity drawing items for Staff Association appreciation events, as well as, planning fundraising events for the Staff Association Scholarship Program.

Staff Appreciation Events

The Staff Appreciation Events Committee is responsible for working with Special Events and Protocol and the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon planning group to plan annual staff appreciation events which are sponsored by the Staff Association.

Social Events & Networking Committee

The Social Events and Networking Committee host on-campus events that allow staff to meet and get to know each other outside of the office. Events can either be staff only or include friends and family. Also, promote community engagement activities such as San Diego shows, ice cream social, festivals, movies night, and other off-campus events where staff may want to congregate or receive a discount to attend due to group sales.

Marketing & Communication (Marcom)

The Marketing & Communication Committee ensures UC San Diego staff are informed of important Staff Association events, opportunities and topics relevant to the staff experience by crafting communications through various social media, email, newsletters and the Staff Association website.

Engagement Survey Action Team

The Engagement Survey Action Team will include the Staff Association Chair, Chair-Elect, and individuals who want to ensure action occurs as the result of the systemwide engagement survey. Responsibilities include planning survey results events, recommending action items and monitoring the progress of the action items.

Election Committee

The Election Committee is responsible for the annual SAEB elections which include creating a timeline, promoting the nomination period, reviewing nominations, promoting the voting period and working with HR to administer the voting process.
