The Annual Staff Summer Celebration is an expression of gratitude for everything our staff does. This signature event celebrates our passionate, talented, and dedicated staff who help create and nurture a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative community.

This year, Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla and the Staff Association are happy to welcome you to the new state-of-the-art Epstein Family Amphitheater to celebrate our Staff Shining Stars!

We are aiming to make this a zero-waste event.

Tickets

This event is open to all staff, but a ticket is required to enter the venue. If tickets are sold out, sign up on the Eventbrite waitlist and you will be contacted if tickets become available.

Register

Check-In

Check-in will be located outside the venue on the KAHNOP Walkway. Show your staff ID card along with your e-ticket to enter the event space.

Please cancel your ticket if you cannot come to the event, to allow other staff the opportunity to participate.


15% discount at Bird Rock

Bird Rock Coffee will be offering a 15% discount at the event. Show your staff ID to receive the discount. The Bird Rock kiosk is located at the main entrance at the top of the amphitheater as you enter the event.

Transportation & Parking

We encourage main campus staff to walk or use campus shuttles. The Medical Center, Mesa Nueva, North Campus, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, South Campus and West Campus Connector shuttles will be running during the summer sessions.

From off-campus, staff are encouraged to take the Blue line trolley to the UC San Diego Central Campus Station. The Epstein Family Amphitheater is located next to the trolley station.

For off-campus staff who are driving in, special parking accommodations will be available in lots 704 and 705. Event shuttle service will be provided to take staff from these lots to the shuttle stop at the Design and Innovation Building. Follow signage to the event entrance. Event shuttle service will be available from 11 am to 2:30 pm.


Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do I need to bring my ticket? YES - Please bring a digital copy of your ticket to the event.
  2. Do I need to bring my Staff ID? YES - Please bring your staff ID. For TES staff who do not have an ID, please see the instructions in your invitation email.
  3. Will lunch be included with my ticket? YES - Lunch will be provided to all staff who have a ticket and attend the event.
  4. Can I bring a non UC San Diego employee, family member, or friend to the event? NO - All attendees must be UC San Diego employees with a ticket.
  5. Can I leave the event and come back? NO - There is no re-entry to the event.
  6. Tickets are sold out. Is there a waitlist? YES - Use the registration link to sign up on the Eventbrite waitlist. If a ticket becomes available, you will be contacted with instructions to register. There is no guarantee that tickets will become available.
  7. Will there be a day-of-event waitlist? YES - There will be a will-call waitlist on-site on the day of the event. Please check in at the Will Call booth at Epstein Family Amphitheater (by the event entrance) starting at 11:30 am. If there is availability when all ticket-holders have made their way through the line, we will be admitting will-call on a first come first-served basis.
  8. If I am unable to secure a ticket is there an opportunity to participate in any activities on the day of the event? NO - Unfortunately, due to the nature of the new event location, a ticket is required for entry. However, you may join the waitlist on the day of the event, at the Will Call booth near the event entrance.
