2018-2019 Board Elections

The Staff Association Board elections are quickly approaching. 

Do you know someone who has a calling for service and would be an asset to the Staff Association Board?  Are you that person?  If you’d like to be part of a great team who communicates staff professional needs and concerns to campus and systemwide leadership and the UC Regents the call for nominations is now open for the 2018-20 Staff Association Executive Board members. 
 
Nominations should be sent to Maria Dolores Beaupre, mdbeaupre@ucsd.edu, no later than close of business on Monday, April 30, 2018, and include a brief paragraph about the nominee. All nominees will receive notification to confirm they are interested in the position. 
 
Voting will be held in May and new members will be confirmed in June. Six new UC San Diego Board Members will be elected for a two-year term (July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2020).

Nominee Information

­Please include the following information in the nomination statement:

  • Years of service at UC San Diego (or the UC system as a whole)
  • Current role
  • Interest statement as to why you would like to serve on the UC San Diego Staff Association

Additional items can include past volunteering or previous committee duty, special talents that could support the mission of the organization and /or committee or officer position the nominee may have interest in holding as a part of the board.

The duties of the Executive Board

All members of the Executive Board are expected to attend meetings. Monthly meetings are held second Monday of every month from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.
 
All members of the Executive Board shall serve as an advocate for the Staff Association. Members shall attend Staff Association events and represent the Staff Association at campus events, departmental meetings, committee meetings, etc.
 
The duties also include serving as a Chair or Co-Chair of a Staff Association standing committee or workgroup as established by the Chair.  Current committees are Budget and Finance, Communication, Election, Engagement Survey Action Team, Fundraising, Scholarship and Professional Development, Social Events and Networking, and Staff Appreciation Events.
