Staff Association Committees

The UC San Diego Staff Association is run by volunteers. We rely on staff members like you to chip in and get things done! By actively participating in a committee, you will help our community accomplish the great work we set out to do each year. To express interest, please contact a committee Chair or staffassociation@ucsd.edu.

Election Committee

The Election Committee is responsible for the annual SAEB elections. Committee members promote the nomination period, review nominations, promote the voting period, and work with HR to administer the voting process.

Engagement Survey Action Committee

The Engagement Survey Action Committee ensures action occurs as a result of the systemwide engagement survey. Committee members recommend and monitor the progress of action items.

Events Committee

The Events Committee hosts a variety of events — from monthly Triton Treats to the annual Staff Celebration — which allow staff to meet and get to know each other outside of the office. Committee members plan, budget, manage, and host the events. Events can be on-campus or virtual.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee prepares monthly budget reports, special event budgets, and annual projections.

Marketing & Communication (Marcom) Committee

The MarCom Committee manages the Staff Association social media, website, and newsletter. Committee members use these communication channels to:

  • connect staff members to SA-sponsored events
  • call attention to events around campus that may be of interest to staff members
  • highlight opportunities for involvement
  • feature authentic staff narratives in stories on social media
  • highlight staff innovation and their important contributions
  • promote wellness and other SA initiatives

Scholarship & Development Committee

The Scholarship & Development Committee oversees the Staff Association scholarship program. Committee members establish the program criteria and timeline, review applications, confirm applicant eligibility, and select recipients for SAEB approval.
