Biography
Dr. Amanda J. Corona (she/her/hers) serves as the Special Projects and Campus Collaboration Chair for the Staff Association. Professionally, she is the Director of Corporate Partnerships within Academic Affairs at the Rady School of Management.
She joined the Staff Association to give back to a campus that has profoundly shaped her both personally and professionally. Guided by her belief in the power of staff to foster a more inclusive, connected, and supportive environment, she sees the Staff Association as a vital platform for building community, advocating for equity, and supporting the growth and well-being of colleagues.
Her favorite spot on campus is the Rady Sky Pavilion. Fun Fact from Amanda, The Rady buildings are shaped like ships, and standing at the Sky Pavilion feels like being on the bow of a ship sailing into the horizon. A symbolic reminder to Amanda that while the university is anchored in tradition, it is also charting bold, new paths forward.
A lifelong learner, Amanda is passionate about books, podcasts, and conversations that explore identity, equity, and purpose-driven leadership. Amanda is proud double Triton with a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Anthropology. She also holds a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from University of San Diego.
Her advice to new staff is:
"Adopt a growth mindset and don’t be afraid to think outside the box—you were hired for a reason, and your ideas matter. Share what you know, ask questions, and stay curious. When challenges come up, bring solutions, not just complaints. Most importantly, invest in building community. Relationships across campus will not only support your success but also amplify your impact. You don’t have to do it alone—this is a place where we grow together.”
