Biography
Sheriyan Bradford (she/her/hers) serves as the Treasurer for the Staff Association, bringing her passion for budget and finance to support the organization’s mission. She currently works at the Institute of Arts & Humanities as the Program Coordinator and Academic Advisor.
Sheriyan’s connection to the Staff Association began a few years ago when she served as the Student Intern, gaining valuable insight into the staff perspective at UC San Diego and the importance of their presence on campus. Now, with two years as a staff member, she’s excited to return and contribute to strengthening staff representation and advocacy.
Her favorite spot on campus is Oceanview Terrace in Marshall College. Outside of work, Sheriyan is a self-proclaimed movie enthusiast, making the most of her AMC Stubs List membership to catch the latest releases. She also enjoys yoga and dedicates time to her self-care routine to keep her Zen at its peak. Sheriyan is an alumna of UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s in Psychology & Sociology.
Her advice for new staff is:
“Don’t be afraid to find your community. Come to a Staff Association Triton Treat event and mingle with other amazing staff on campus!”
Duties
- Recording and depositing all monies collected by the Staff Association.
- Issuing payment for all legitimate expenses of the Staff Association subject to the approval of the Executive Board.
- Preparing and presenting a monthly financial report to the Executive Board.
- Serving as chair of the finance committee and serve as a member of the fundraising committee.
- An ideal Treasurer will have knowledge of fiscal practices and policies; and campus fiscal systems.
