Hannah Aksamit

Wellness Chair

Biography

Hannah Aksamit (she/her/hers) currently serves as the Wellness Chair for Staff Association, representing the Women’s Center. In her role, she brings a warm and intentional focus on nurturing the well-being of all campus community members.

Professionally, Hannah is the Assistant Director for Education at the UC San Diego Women’s Center, where she oversees their programming and intern team. She has been with the university for three years.

Hannah joined the Staff Association with the goal of forging stronger connections across UC San Diego’s vibrant campus community. When she’s on campus, her favorite spot is the expansive outdoor balcony at the Women’s Center. Outside of her professional life, Hannah’s hobbies include exploring the outdoors through hiking, indulging in crafting, and celebrating her love for Star Wars. Hannah holds a Master of Education in Student Counseling and Personnel Services from Clemson University, and a Bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona.

  1. Actively supports wellness through various collaborations and initiatives to meet the needs of UCSD staff.
  2. Serves as a liaison for initiatives that involve UCSD Staff Association in collaboration with campus wellness initiatives (https://blink.ucsd.edu/HR/benefits/work-life/health.html).
  3. Develops opportunities to support staff wellness through collaborations and UCSD Staff Association initiatives.
  4. Works closely with HR and other campus units or committees to enhance the wellness of our staff and the life-work balance.
  5. Oversees committee (ad hoc).
  6. Other tasks – voluntary and assigned by Chair.
