Maddie Martinez

Chair

Biography

Maddie Martinez (she/her/hers) serves as the Chair for Staff Association. Professionally, she works in the Institute of Arts & Humanities within the Student Affairs department as the Events and Fiscal Coordinator, bringing over three years of service to the university.

Maddie’s journey with the Staff Association began after attending a few Triton Treats events, where she was drawn to the sense of community and the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across campus. These experiences opened her eyes to the many resources and opportunities UC San Diego offers its staff and deepened her appreciation for the Staff Association’s role in advocating for and supporting staff across the university.

Her favorite spot on campus is the 5th Floor Terrace in Sixth College. Outside of work, Maddie is passionate about working out, reading, traveling, and cooking. Maddie is alumna of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

She encourages new staff to:

“Get involved on campus, whether it’s through a committee, club, or interest group. It’s a great way to meet new people, explore different areas of campus, discover what sparks your interests, and build connections that could lead to exciting opportunities you might not have expected!”
