Biography

Andrew Christensen (he/him/his) serves as the Campus Community Relations Chair for Staff Association. He has been with the university for nine years.

Andrew joined the Staff Association to foster a stronger sense of connectivity and community among all campus areas and groups, with the goal of ensuring every member feels heard and seen.

Outside of work, he enjoys surfing, creating art, and running, and shares his home with two beloved cats. His favorite spot on campus is Scripps Pier. Andrew is a graduate of Beloit College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Andrew encourages new staff to make the most of their UC San Diego experience by:

“Find a new place to visit or person to talk to on campus as often as you can!”

  1. Responsible for actively supporting the collaboration between the Staff Association and Staff Affiliate groups. Statement of interest should include any experience you have as a general member of or serving as a board member of an affiliate group at UC San Diego and why you would like to serve in this role.
  2. Supports the Chair of the Staff Association in their work with Staff Affiliate Groups regarding communications, collaboration with the Staff Association, and ensuring consistency in support for these groups.
  3. Encourages and assists with the facilitation of intersectional opportunities across UC San Diego community-based constituent groups.
  4. Oversees committee (ad hoc).
  5. Other tasks – voluntary and assigned by the Chair.
